A Human Scale

Five archetypal houses introduce a smaller scale of architecture and public space to Ørestad. Their characteristic silhouettes stand out from afar, positioned right on the axis which cuts through the entire district.

Closerby, a more intimate public space is created by carefully arranging the little houses. A small public square is formed, a space to be appropriated by the community, where different people can meet and events may be organised. Each individual house has a specific scale and use, providing a place for the diverse inhabitants of Ørestad, and encouraging encounters between them.

Recognizing the educational and cultural character of the surrounding buildings, we propose an architecture which clearly communicates and facilitates education and culture in a playful way.
